DFA voices deep concern over West Bank developments

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has expressed deep concern over recent developments in the West Bank, noting "with alarm" the Israeli government's accelerated efforts to advance its controversial E1 settlement plan.

In an official statement, the DFA warned that the expansion project and a concurrent rise in settler violence may contravene international law and stand as a detriment to finding a lasting peace.

Consequently, the Philippine government is urging all involved parties to desist from unilateral actions that threaten the viability of a future Palestinian state. Concluding its statement, Manila firmly reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people's fundamental right to self-determination.
