Court Lifts TRO; SOCOTECO II Plebiscite Set to Resume

The South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SOCOTECO II) will push forward with its remaining plebiscite dates on September 19–20 and September 26–27, 2026. The decision follows a ruling by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 62, which dissolved an outstanding Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) and denied a petition for a preliminary injunction against the proceedings. 

While the court’s decision clears any legal barriers, SOCOTECO II’s Overall Plebiscite Committee (OPCOMM) announced the deferment of the September 12 and 13 voting rounds due to a lack of material preparation time following the late release of the court order.

The upcoming weekend plebiscites will officially determine consumer consent for SOCOTECO II's proposed Conditional Joint Venture Agreement (CJVA) with Ignite Power and Energy Holdings Inc.
