President Marcos leads oath-taking of young lawmakers at Malacañan

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday administered the oath of office to the newly elected national officers of the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) for the 2026–2028 term during a ceremony at the President's Hall in Malacañan Palace.

During the induction, the President urged the young local lawmakers to lead their constituencies with integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to public service. He emphasized their role in advancing the administration’s efforts toward building a more responsive, inclusive, and people-centered governance.

Following the event, the NMYL expressed its gratitude to the President for leading the ceremony and anchoring their mission in service. "As young local leaders, we carry with us the commitment to serve our communities with integrity, compassion, and purpose," the organization shared in a social media post. "The President’s message reminds us that leadership is not about position, but about making government more responsive, inclusive, and truly centered on the people."

Composed of elected local lawmakers aged 40 and below—including councilors, vice mayors, and provincial board members—the NMYL focuses on strengthening legislative capacities and spearheading community-driven initiatives nationwide.
