Philippines to Host 4th ASEAN Blue Economy Forum in Makati

The Philippines will take center stage in regional marine sustainability as it hosts the 4th ASEAN Blue Economy Forum at the Shangri-La Makati on August 24 and 25, 2026.

Gathering regional leaders, policymakers, and maritime stakeholders under the Philippines' 2026 ASEAN Chairship, the forum aims to establish a sustainable framework for fisheries, ports, clean energy, and coastal communities.

The high-level discussions will be guided by the Philippine-led "Lead, Sail, Rise" future-proofing strategy. Under this framework, "Lead" emphasizes reinforcing regional security and rules-based resilience; "Sail" highlights economic innovation and collaboration; and "Rise" focuses on building inclusive, human-centered communities.

The event follows the endorsement of the ASEAN Blue Economy Implementation Plan, which serves as a major driver for sustainable growth across Southeast Asia.
