Miss International Executive Director Stephen Diaz Denies Pageant Sale Rumors

NEWS | The Miss International Organization has formally dismissed rampant speculation regarding a potential change in ownership, firmly removing themselves from global pageant sale rumors.

Stephen Diaz, the Japan-based Filipino Executive Director of the Miss International Organization, took to social media to directly address the ongoing gossip circulating in pageant circles. In a definitive post on X (formerly Twitter), Diaz clarified the organization's status, stating, "It's definitely not MI so you have three choices only".

The rumors initially erupted after pageant insiders and fan forums hinted that one of the prestigious "Big 4" global competitions had secretly changed hands or was actively up for sale. In the beauty pageant industry, the term "Big 4" or "Big League" refers to the four most prominent and historically significant international contests for women: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth.

With Miss International officially out of the equation, speculation has intensified among pageant enthusiasts regarding which of the remaining three institutions is involved. As of mid-August 2026, representatives from the Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Earth organizations have not released any official statements to address the ownership rumors.

Miss International's corporate structure remains exceptionally stable compared to other long-running franchises that have frequently shifted hands over the decades. The global brand and its corresponding international operations have been continuously owned and managed by the Tokyo-based International Cultural Association (ICA) and the Miss Paris Group since 1968.

The organization recently demonstrated its commitment to structural continuity by opting not to increase license fees for its national directors, reinforcing that the organization is focused tightly on its core operations. Currently, pageant organizers are fully occupied with preparations for the upcoming coronation night, which is scheduled to take place on November 25 in Tokyo, Japan.
