Former Sugarpop Member and “DOTA O Ako” Singer Vanessa Blanca Dies at 30

NEWS | Singer and content creator Vanessa Blanca Quillo Rangadhol, widely known as Vanessa Blanca, passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 30. Her family confirmed that she sustained a severe traumatic brain injury and internal brain hemorrhage following an accidental fall in her bathroom while getting dressed at her condominium in Manila.

Blanca first stepped into the entertainment scene as a second runner-up on GMA’s Popstar Kids. She later became a member of the 2006 pre-teen singing group Sugarpop alongside prominent artists Julie Anne San Jose, Rita Daniela, Enzo Almario, and Cholo Bismonte. In 2011, she gained massive popularity among Filipino gamers for lending her vocals to the hit novelty anthem “DOTA O Ako” with rapper Aikee. She also briefly served as the lead vocalist for the acoustic band MYMP.

Her former Sugarpop bandmates and collaborator Aikee expressed deep grief on social media, mourning unfulfilled plans for an upcoming group reunion. A public viewing will be held starting August 21, 2026, at the Loyola Memorial Chapels in Commonwealth, Quezon City.
