DPWH Chief Inspects Collapsed Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road Section

NEWS | Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon personally inspected a completely collapsed section of the Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road in Barangay Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet on Friday, August 21.

Incessant rains from recent tropical cyclones and the southwest monsoon triggered the landslide, which heavily disrupted travel for local motorists and commuters. Joining Dizon during the site inspection were Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas and Presidential Assistant for the Cordillera Administrative Region, Assistant Secretary Antonio Tabora Jr.

Following the total collapse, authorities immediately rerouted traffic through a nearby intersection located just a few meters away from the damaged area to maintain local mobility.
