YouTube sensation Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson has officially married his longtime partner, author and content creator Thea Booysen, in an intimate beachside ceremony on Richard Branson’s private Necker Island.

Breaking his notoriously strict video upload schedule to focus on the nuptials, the 28-year-old internet mogul confirmed the news on social media by sharing an official look at their destination wedding. “I found MrsBeast ❤️❤️❤️ and it was the best day of my life,” Donaldson wrote in a joint Instagram/Facebook announcement.

A Weeklong Private Island Celebration

Eschewing the massive, over-the-top public spectacles that define his YouTube channel, Donaldson opted for a highly private and exclusive affair. The wedding festivities kicked off on July 14, 2026, bringing together roughly 70 of the couple's closest friends and family members to the 74-acre private tropical oasis in the British Virgin Islands.

Before exchanging vows, guests spent a week participating in island activities curated by celebrity event planner Marcy Blum, including snorkeling, kitesurfing, and interacting with Necker Island’s native lemurs and flamingos.

The ceremony itself was officiated by an ordained minister who is a close family friend. The bride walked down the aisle in a custom ivory and nude gown featuring intricate floral lace by Nicole + Felicia Couture. Donaldson traded his signature casual hoodies for a sharp custom Ralph Lauren tuxedo.

Inside the Reception

Following the ceremony, the newlywed couple entered their reception and shared their first dance to the hit track “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

According to an exclusive report by People, the reception dinner featured an elaborate menu packed with sushi, Wagyu beef, and fresh fish. For dessert, the couple skipped traditional confections for a tiered carrot cake—noted to be Booysen’s personal favorite.

The evening concluded away from the cameras. Booysen jokingly shared that the after-party shifted to the island's main house, where guests pivoted to low-key, "nerdy" activities like card games and board games.

From South Africa to the Altar

The marriage marks the culmination of a four-year love story that began in April 2022. The pair first crossed paths in South Africa, where Booysen—who holds a master’s degree in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology from the University of Edinburgh—was introduced to Donaldson by a mutual friend during his trip to the region.

After navigating a long-distance relationship, the couple later moved in together. Donaldson eventually popped the question on Christmas Day in 2024 during a holiday family gathering. He executed a playful surprise proposal by dropping a loud, oversized decoy box to distract Booysen before kneeling to present a diamond ring while both of their families watched.

The new Mrs. Donaldson noted that the formal wedding was simply a beautiful confirmation of what they already knew. "It sounds silly, but this is really just a formality," Booysen told People. "Ever since we started dating we've been doing it with the goal of marriage. The difference is now the world knows we're married, but we'll still come home to our house and dogs and cats."
