A powerful Magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the coast of Davao Oriental on Monday afternoon, June 15, 2026.
The tectonic event occurred at 5:18 PM, with the epicenter located 113 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Governor Generoso. The earthquake originated at a depth of 94 kilometers, according to seismic data.
Seismologists explicitly clarified that this event is entirely independent and not connected to the historic Magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani on June 8, 2025.
