BSP Launches Online Sale of Limited-Edition Pintados-Kasadyaan Silver Coin Tomorrow; Walk-Ins Banned

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will officially open the online sale for its limited-edition Pintados-Kasadyaan silver commemorative coin tomorrow, June 25, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM.

The announcement, released on Wednesday, details the strict purchase protocols and the cultural significance of the central bank's latest numismatic offering.

Exclusive Online Ordering and Strict Walk-In Ban

Collectors and investors must use the official BSP Online Store to secure the coin. The BSP explicitly stated that walk-in orders at its physical headquarters and store in Malate, Manila will no longer be entertained.

The limited-edition coin is priced at ₱5,000.00. While minted as a collector's item, it carries a legal tender face value of ₱100.00 and is minted from 99.9% fine silver. Due to expected high demand and limited mintages, the central bank urges the public to prepare their online accounts ahead of the 10:00 AM launch.

Honoring Leyte’s Vibrant Heritage

The coin pays tribute to Leyte’s famous Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival, a major cultural event celebrated annually during the final week of June. The festival fuses two historic events: the "Pintados," which honors the body-painting traditions of pre-colonial Visayan warriors, and the "Kasadyaan," which translates to cheerfulness or celebration in the local dialect. The twin festival showcases deep-rooted Visayan artistry and profound regional devotion to the Santo Niño.

The "Pista sa Pilipinas" Series Reaches Midpoint

This launch marks the sixth release in the BSP’s landmark "Pista sa Pilipinas" (Philippine Festivals) Commemorative Coin Series. The ambitious 12-coin collection aims to preserve and promote the country’s most prominent cultural, historical, and tourism festivals.

To align with local festivities, the BSP has been releasing exactly one distinct coin each month throughout 2026. Prior releases have celebrated other major regional cultural milestones, and six more festival coins are scheduled for monthly rollouts through December.
