According to the official statement released by P.O.S Inc., the closure stems from insurmountable difficulties in maintaining the group's large-scale business operations.
In a statement, the agency cited challenges in maintaining a sustainable management structure and a viable operating environment for the future. They extended apologies to their dedicated fanbase, "MNLoves," for the abrupt announcement.
A Final Parting Gift
As a final farewell to supporters, the group released a 2026 version of their viral music video, "Pag-Ibig Fortune Cookie".
The Legacy of the First P-Pop Sister Group
Formed in 2018 in collaboration with Japan's AKB48, MNL48 introduced the unique "idol" and "general election" system to the Philippines. Though facing challenges in maintaining this model, the group is recognized for its role in shaping the modern P-pop industry.
