The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Mandaue City Fire Station responded to the emergency call at exactly 4:01 AM. Responding firefighters arrived to find thick smoke and heavy flames tearing through the commercial residential structure while most guests were still asleep.

Emergency crews worked quickly to prevent the flames from jumping to neighboring commercial establishments along the busy F.B. Cabahug thoroughfare. Firefighters declared the blaze under control at 4:52 AM, and officially announced "fire out" at 5:24 AM.

Foreign National Trapped

Tragically, rescue teams discovered a casualty during their clearing operations. Fire officials confirmed that an elderly German national died after becoming trapped inside his room as the fire spread. First responders were unable to reach him in time due to the rapid progression of the smoke and heat.

Authorities have withheld the victim's name pending the notification of his family and the German Embassy. No other major injuries have been reported so far, as other guests and employees successfully evacuated the building.

Millions in Damages, Cause Investigated

Initial damage assessments by BFP investigators place the structural and property losses at approximately ₱7.8 million.

Arson investigators remain on the scene to sift through the debris. The BFP has not yet determined the exact origin or cause of the fire, though a electrical short circuit or faulty wiring are among the possibilities being looked into.
