Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. has expressed deep disappointment over the behavior of a student who allegedly assaulted and insulted Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel during a public exhibit. The secretary stressed the importance of discipline and respect for government soldiers who are only performing their duties.

The incident occurred inside a university in Manila (reportedly identified as the University of Santo Tomas or UST) while the Air Force was holding an exhibit as part of the institution’s 415th anniversary celebration. A video has gone viral on social media showing a heated argument between a 1st year student who identified himself as a student and soldiers. The student was heard insulting and questioning the military’s presence on campus. Defense Chief Teodoro called on the university administration to discipline the students involved to maintain credibility and order within the academic institution.

Teodoro stressed that such actions should not be tolerated, especially since PAF personnel are there for peaceful interaction and information for the public. The call for discipline is also part of the government's broader campaign for order in the country.
