Southeastern College School Bus Burns in Davao del Sur; All Students Safe

A fire that engulfed a school bus along the National Highway in Barangay Darong, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur on Wednesday morning, April 29, has been completely extinguished.
According to authorities, the said bus, driven by Ray Jay Amagos, 38, belongs to Southeastern College of Padada. It was carrying an estimated 36 to 50 students and teachers who were on their way to a seminar in Davao City when the incident occurred at around 6:00 a.m.
Based on initial reports, the driver heard a loud bang from the left tire of the vehicle before it suddenly started to smoke and quickly engulfed in flames. All passengers were able to get off immediately so no injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.
Currently, the students have been taken back to their school in Padada to undergo physical and psychological assessment. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still investigating to determine the exact cause of the fire.
