PUBLIC NOTICE: Correction Regarding Dateline Standards
MIRANDA NEWS PHILIPPINES is committed to upholding the integrity of independent journalism. We are issuing this erratum to correct a technical inconsistency found in our news bulletins published between February and April 2026.
During this period, our bulletins utilized city datelines to signify the location where a news event occurred. However, established journalistic standards dictate that a dateline must represent the location where the reporter is physically situated while filing the story. As a solo journalist operating primarily out of General Santos, I mistakenly applied these locations based on the subject matter rather than my reporting base.
To rectify this and provide the most transparent experience for our readers, we are shifting our format. Moving forward, Miranda News Philippines will prioritize the publication date as our primary dateline. This alternative ensures that our audience knows exactly when the news was verified and released, avoiding any further geographical confusion.
While many independent news blogs encounter similar challenges with geographical datelines, I believe in holding this platform to a higher standard of accountability. I am currently in the process of manually updating past bulletins to reflect this change. We appreciate your patience as this transition takes place.
We sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Every step we take is a step toward becoming a more reliable source of information for our community.
Thank you for your continued trust and for supporting local, independent news.
