PCO SUES 3 FB ACCOUNTS FOR SPREADING 'FAKE NEWS' ABOUT THE PRESIDENT'S HEALTH

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has formally requested the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate and possibly file charges against the administrator of the Facebook page "Iloy Bugris: The Queen of Revelations" for spreading false information about the health of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr..

Apart from Iloy Bugris, the PCO Anti-Fake News Desk also endorsed the following accounts for legal action:

"Rigondola Ping" – Accused of posting manipulated images showing the President in poor health.

"Crage Anderpal" – Accused of creating and spreading fake news graphics allegedly confirming the Chief Executive's serious illness.

According to the PCO, the "Iloy Bugris" page even conducted live broadcasts where a fake medical document was shown and even solicited donations through GCash and BPI accounts.

This move is part of the strengthened "Oplan Kontra Fake News" under the State of National Energy Emergency (Executive Order No. 110, s. 2026). The campaign, in collaboration with the DICT and DOJ, aims to curb digital disinformation that is causing anxiety and threatening the country's security amid the current energy crisis.

Additional Details:

Ongoing Probe: The Department of Justice (DOJ) will forward the endorsement to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for further investigation.

Legal Penalty: Suspects may face violation of Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code (Unlawful Use of Means of Publication) in conjunction with the Cybercrime Prevention Act, which carries a penalty of imprisonment and heavy fines.

April 29, 2026 - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has subpoenaed three social media vloggers for allegedly spreading false information regarding the health of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.. This action stems from a complaint filed by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) through its Anti-Fake News Desk.

This crackdown follows a coordinated surge in misinformation regarding President Marcos's health, which he previously addressed by physically demonstrating his fitness. The administration confirmed that a past diverticulitis diagnosis has been resolved
