The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Kiamba recorded more than 3,000 bats during a monitoring activity conducted in Barangay Pinol on April 22, 2026.
In collaboration with MENRO and Barangay LGU, the activity confirmed that the biodiversity of the area remains balanced. Despite this, there have been some movements in the bat habitats or roosts that have been observed as a result of natural changes in the environment and food supply.
According to CENRO, the value of bats in the ecosystem as natural pollinators and seed dispersers in the forest cannot be denied. For this reason, the agency has ensured stricter monitoring and protection of wildlife in the area.
