Popular OPM rapper Hev Abi, legally known as Gabriel Abilla, was arrested early Tuesday morning, April 14, 2026, following a police operation in Barangay Laging Handa, Diliman. The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) confirmed the arrest on Thursday, identifying Abilla as one of seven individuals taken into custody.

The Raid: Oplan Paglalansag Omega

The arrest was part of "Oplan Paglalansag Omega," a CIDG-led campaign targeting loose firearms. Authorities executed a search warrant for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591) and the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165).

During the search, police reportedly seized:
A 9mm Taurus pistol with a magazine and 15 rounds of live ammunition.
Suspected cocaine and marijuana leaves.
Eleven cartridges of liquid marijuana.

According to the CIDG-NCR, Abilla subsequently tested positive for shabu and marijuana use, while the six other suspects apprehended alongside him tested positive for marijuana.

Management and Label Response

In a statement released on April 16, Hev Abi’s record label, Urban Department PH, defended the 24-year-old artist. The label "categorically denied" the allegations, claiming the rapper did not possess the recovered items and characterizing the incident as a "misunderstanding."

The label further stated that their legal team is actively coordinating with the authorities to resolve the case and requested the public to refrain from spreading unverified information while the investigation is ongoing.
