Motorists in Koronadal City are expected to have a faster and more comfortable journey after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the completion of the Koronadal City Bypass Road Segment 2.

The 1.76-kilometer road will serve as an alternative route connecting the Jct. National Highway–Paraiso–Mambucal. As a result, vehicles from Banga, Tantangan, and Tacurong City heading to Tupi, Polomolok, and General Santos City will no longer have to pass through the city center.

It was noted that the project has a 3.35-meter-wide lane, 1.5-meter shoulder, and more than a kilometer of drainage system. Its durability was also ensured with the help of concrete slope protection and expanded box culverts.

The project is worth more than ₱72 million under the FY 2025 Regular Infrastructure Program. The DPWH also targets to extend it by more than three kilometers in the next segment to improve traffic flow in the province.
