First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos Honors PCSO Chorale’s Global Triumph at "Vincerò" Victory Concert
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos joined cultural leaders and government officials at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell to celebrate the historic homecoming of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chorale. The victory concert, titled "Vincerò" (I Shall Overcome), honored the group’s recent crowning as the Grand Prix Champion at the prestigious 2026 Korea International Choir Competition (KICC).
A Historic "First" for the Philippines
In a stunning international debut, the PCSO Chorale bested 48 elite vocal ensembles from across the globe in Songdo, Incheon. Despite it being their first-ever venture into the international competition circuit, the group achieved a "sweep" of the top honors, securing Gold Medals in both the Sacred Music and Mixed Category before claiming the ultimate Grand Prix title.
A Testament to Filipino Talent
During the event, the First Lady expressed her pride in the ensemble's achievement, noting that their journey from "quiet rehearsals to the world stage" serves as a profound inspiration to Filipino artists. Under the baton of Conductor Robert Delgado and Choir Master Tristan Ignacio, the chorale performed selections from their winning repertoire, including the ethereal “Puer Natus in Bethlehem” and “Te Lucis Ante Terminum.”
Road to the Asia Choral Grand Prix
The KICC victory has paved the way for the chorale’s next major challenge. As the reigning champions, they have officially qualified to represent the Philippines in the 7th Asia Choral Grand Prix (ACGP), which is set to be hosted in Manila in August 2027.
The victory concert was also attended by National Artist for Music Ramón Santos and various PCSO executives, highlighting the government’s continued support for the intersection of public service and cultural excellence.
