Arab-Islamic Coalition Strongly Denounces ‘Dangerous Escalation’ of West Bank Settler Violence


The foreign ministers of eight major Arab and Islamic nations issued a blistering joint statement on Thursday, strongly condemning a dangerous escalation of Israeli settler violence across the occupied West Bank.

The high-level diplomatic communique—jointly signed by Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Türkiye—expressed profound outrage over a series of coordinated attacks targeting Palestinian civilians and Islamic holy sites.

Arson Attacks on West Bank Mosques

The joint statement explicitly denounced overnight attacks perpetrated by extremist Israeli settlers against two religious sites north of Ramallah:

The Grand Mosque in the village of Jiljilya, where attackers set fire to 15 to 20 tires inside the ablution room, leaving the floors and walls blackened by soot.

Al-Farouq Mosque in the neighboring village of Mazar’a al-Nubani, which suffered structural material damage from a separate arson attempt.

Local witnesses and journalists at the scene confirmed that the attackers scrawled hostile graffiti in Hebrew across the exterior walls of the mosques. The text included retaliatory messages such as "Revenge" and "Hi from the Hilltop Youth".

Demand for International Accountability

The coalition of eight nations emphasized that these hostile acts constitute a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law, the historical status quo of religious sanctuaries, and relevant United Nations resolutions.

"These attacks constitute a clear violation of the sanctity of places of worship and religious sites," the statement read, warning that unchecked settler hostilities continue to undermine regional security.

The ministers collectively demanded that the international community uphold its legal and moral obligations. They called for immediate, decisive steps to compel Israel, as the occupying power, to halt these systemic violations, hold the perpetrators accountable, and ensure an end to their apparent impunity.

Firm Reaffirmation of Palestinian Rights

Beyond addressing the immediate structural violence, the diplomatic front reasserted its total rejection of any expansionist measures aimed at altering the demographic or administrative status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Concluding their statement, the eight foreign ministers reaffirmed their unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people. They reiterated that the realization of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the 1967 borders—with East Jerusalem as its capital—remains the only viable framework for achieving a lasting, comprehensive peace across the region.
